Connect the plugin to the portal

Connecting is optional. Without it everything works locally. With it you get the verified model catalog, model sets synced between your PCs and the account, and cloud models through the portal.

Sign in with a device code

The plugin never asks for your portal password. It uses a device code, like signing in on a TV:

  1. In the plugin, open Models › Portal and press Sign in with the portal.
  2. The plugin shows a short code such as ABCD-1234 and opens your browser.
  3. On the portal, open /activate (the browser usually opens it for you with the code filled in), sign in if needed and check that the code matches.
  4. Press Approve. Within a few seconds the plugin shows that it is connected.

The code is valid for 10 minutes. If it expires, start again from step 1.

Where the token is kept

After approval the plugin receives a long-lived device token. It is stored only in Windows Credential Manager, never in your Unreal project files, so it cannot end up in git or in a packaged build.

What the device sends

When it connects, the plugin registers the device: its name, OS, GPU, VRAM, Unreal version and the names of installed models. No model files, paths or projects.

Disconnect a device

Open My account › Devices and press Revoke next to the device. The token stops working at once; the plugin will ask you to sign in again the next time it talks to the portal.
